After one or two nights of being sick, I am on my feet again! I attempted a bimbimbap (Korean dish) far too spicy. It destroyed my stomach and made me constipated! Imagine the scene when you have to mime your intestines problem to the local pharmacist ... a cult scene.
Hop, early morning, here we go, ready to visit. We're leaving super motivated, on foot, when a Thai tackles us! He speaks to us for 10 minutes, explains how today is a « special day » with the temples opening their doors for free, and that if we take a green tuktuk - the company be-called ' National ' - it's only 35 Baht. A bargain at first sight! But when, a green tuktuk shows up at the same time, in a too perfect timing, I become suspicious.
It smells like a good big bullshit or a scam!
Sixtine would already be sitting in it if I hadn't warned her up: until now we had the impression of being able to trust instead! As a result, we're being insulted because we refused! The same thing 100 metres away. It makes us laugh!
Too bad for the temples,so today we're going to visit Chinatown. Rather than take the taxi or the subway, we jump on the boat. And yes, here it is faster to climb the chao phraya river! There are stops in the way, a bit like the subway, every 500 metres on each side of the banks.
Chinatown, is like a city in the city. An incredible area. Tourists Mix in the flood of premises. Welcome in this maze of shops. The narrow alleys all look alike! And then a maze of food. Dried mushrooms alongside the beautiful boxes of dried cakes. Mixtures of green, black and fruity tea make you want to sample everything. The music is omnipresent and loud. The Gold Greeting Cards covered with roosters take too much space in the shops. We feel that the Chinese new year is approaching!
In the early evening, the sunlight fades for to the red neons, the color of luck in China. The major arteries, with lots of restaurants and shops are overrun by street food. Dishes based on shark's fins are ubiquitous and cost a fortune.
Hummm, can you feel this good-bad smell?
This is the durian! A fruit of the family of the jackfruit, of an enormous size, and which is part of the stinkiest fruit in the world. Be-called. Because even if the smell is very strong and recognizable among a thousand, you just have to get used to it. Of course we let ourselves tempted by this either loved or hated fruit!
In the end it's very special. I feel like I've eaten a creamy onion and my mouth will never get rid of the taste again!
_____
we spent our Sunday in the famous chatuchak market, huge jungle of shops, where it is possible to find everything You need.
Night is coming.
It's time.
In order to experience more of the city, we go for a surprise party. Alex, Clement and Kevin met some other French in Burma, we are invited for the birthday of Guillaume.
In a few seconds we are on the roof of a building, on an helicopter platform in the middle of the city! The view is amazing, we are on the only real building in the vicinity. Thai and French are mixed, affinity unveil with alcohol. The music and the atmosphere are perfect.
Once again, we are in a bubble.
Love from Bangkok, Magic City!
