Cooks for a day.

The following days, in Paï, we continued to visit. This is how we discovered few waterfalls, some beautiful rice fields, an amazing bamboo bridge or even a kind of 'Death valley'. However, the most interesting part was somewhere else:

'Thom' and her restaurant Bebe Wok'n'roll were.

How to say? We've just met one of the craziest Thai woman we could. Or at least, one of the most incredible!
We must say that the 'triplets' had already prepared the 'path': they had come at her place to learn how to cook a few weeks ago, and they had strongly recommended that we meet her.

Done.

20 H: We meet her
20 h 30: She offers us the meal
22 h 00: We're having rhum based drinks in a little private concert place!

Thom is magic, she has an amazing self-confidence, and her way of talking is extremely direct. Also, she is able throw any English profanity, just like that. Which makes her a really charming person!

The next morning, we join her for a Thai cooking class. We meet there few other travellers. We are only half a dozen, including Monica and Maartje, who became friends afterwards.

Let's go to the market!

This is an area where the space is shared between small restaurants, fish tanks and vegetables stalls.
To put ourselves in condition we take our breakfast there. Then Thom takes the time to make us a full description of all Thai products: Soya sauces, vegetables and fruits, local rices types, everything. Plus, she really takes care to warn us: we know how to choose those which do not have chemical components.

We have the feeling to be children with a mom who gives us the shopping list! Each person comes back, proud of the selected products, hoping that they are good enough for Thom. Because yes, she wants us to choose the best! No quality concession!

In the afternoon, we learn how to make the curry from pimento: red, green Curry or Massaman, depending on the preferences. What's great is that she teaches us the way of thinking, in order to succeed any Thai recipe and to not just follow only one recipe! So, everyone is able to prepare more or less any local dishes!

Obviously, we have a glass of red wine in hand while cooking! In the evening, we try pad-Thai, fried vegetables or soups recipes.

A wonderful day, which ends with a great meal altogether. And as it is never finished with Thom, we come back on the next day, to cook the rests, practice and improve our skills!

Hum, by the way, we still have to move on to the next part of our trip: Burma! So, we have to move soon towards the border.

Kisses!

Hum.

Delicious!
